Iva Lou (Brumley) DeVault

Ms. Iva Lou DeVault 83 passed away at her residence in Hohenwald surrounded by her loving family and friends.  Ms. Iva was born in Lewis County on March 18,1936 to the late Leonard and Sadie M. Warren Brumley.  She was employed at Genesco before beginning work at Lewis County Schools where she would later retire from.  She was a member of Full Gospel Pentecostal Church where she would often give her time to help with different charities sponsored by the church. She was said to be a devoted Christian and made her love for the Lord known.

Ms. DeVault enjoyed sewing for her family often making them shoes and teddy bears. She was an excellent cook being remembered for her brittle and chocolate pie. Ms. Iva Lou was dedicated to her family and was described as the best mama and grandmother who was kind, lovable and just an overall sweet lady.

Ms. Iva is survived by:

Son- Ricky Wayne DeVault; Daughter- Glenda Darlene Rone DeVault (Tony); Son-David Keith DeVault (RoyeAnn); Son- Johnny Shane Hilburn

Grandchildren: Cassie Ann Thebeau DeVault, Kayla Michelle DeVault, Jennifer Nichole DeVault, Jessica Rene DeVault, Johnathan Nanthieal DeVault (Faith), Dalton Lane Hilburn, Timothy Hilburn, Matthew Hilburn, and Natasha Hensley.

Great Grand Children: Zackary Ryan Haley, Isaish Nanthieal DeVault, Cedric Anthony DeVault, Johnathan William Thomas DeVault, Lillium Rose Wolak, and Annalee Thebeau

Siblings: Sister-Ruby Jones; Brother- L.B. (Beverly) Brumley; Sister- Leda (Paris) Moore

She is also survived by a best friend Sheila Hinson and 15 nieces and 15 nephews.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Mr. William Thomas DeVault JR, brothers Thomas and James; sisters Doris and Imogene; and two nieces Judy Maxwell and Brenda DeVault.

Visitation will be held in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday November 20,2019 from 4:00-8:00pm. The funeral will take place Thursday November 21,2019 at 2:00pm with burial to follow at Deavers Cemetery. Brother Kyle Conner will be officiating.
