Iva Louise (Anderson) Holt

Mrs. Iva Louise Anderson Holt passed away at home October 24 at the age of 95 surrounded by family. She was born December 5, 1923 in Lewis County, TN to the late Les Herbert and Pearl Hardin Anderson.

Mrs. Holt was an exceptionally devoted wife and mother having spent her life caring for her family as a homemaker. She was known by many children in the area as she often would babysit for many families. She loved many and the love she received in return was undeniable.  In her spare time, she enjoyed quilting, crocheting, and being a seamstress. Mrs. Holt was a member of Springer Church of Christ in Hohenwald, TN.

Mrs. Iva is survived by her children Judy (Bill) Marriott of Killen, AL, Joey (Joyce) Holt of Hohenwald, and James “Jimmy” Holt of Hohenwald; grandchildren Jerry Holt Jr., Rhonda Holt Parham, Chad Hickerson, Carol Holt Ashmore, Terri Hickerson Speir, Gary Holt, Dustin Holt, Maranda Holt Clark, and Lauren Holt Bowley; sisters Imogene Dickson of San Diego, CA, Faye Davidson of Clifton, and Nell Wisdom of Hohenwald; brothers Eddie Anderson and James “Tootsie” Anderson both of Hohenwald; 16 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grand children.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Edward “Sonny” Holt; a son Jerry Holt and siblings Grady Anderson, Charlie Anderson, Clovis Anderson, and Earlene Harpham.

Visitation will be held at Adair Funeral & Cremation Services Saturday October 26th from 11am-3. The funeral service will begin at 3:00pm with burial to follow in Springer Cemetery with Brother Artie Collins officiating.
