On September 28, 2021, Mr. Austin Earl Floyd passed away peacefully at Waynesboro Health and Rehab Center with his family by his side. Mr. Floyd was born in Lewis County to the late Herbert and Bertha Turnbow Floyd on September 2, 1932.
Mr. Floyd is survived by his loving wife of 65 years Mrs. Clara Wix Floyd; his daughter Jennifer Lea Hinson (Jerry Jones); granddaughter Stephanie NaCole Webb (Blake); and his granddaughters Kristin Brumley (Michael) and Kaille Thomas.
Mr. Floyd enlisted in the United States Air Force before enrolling at Austin Peay in Clarksville, TN. His work career was working for the Tennessee Highway Department as an inspector and surveyor. Once retired from the highway department he spent his days working on his farm or piddling around town. His mornings were spent at Hardees talking with friends and enjoying breakfast. Mr. Floyds witty sense of humor would always make you smile. He and his wife Clara shared many inside jokes in their almost 65 years of marriage.
Visitation with family and friends will be Thursday September 30, 2021, from 5:00-8:00 pm at The Sanctuary UPC in Hohenwald. Funeral Services will begin at 1:00 pm on Friday in the chapel of Adair Funeral & Cremation Services with brother Justin Pearcy officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Swiss Cemetery.
