Betty D. Kundrat, a woman of love and creativity, passed away peacefully on February 23, 2025, at the age of 86 in Hohenwald, Tennessee. Born on July 3, 1938, in Randolph, Michigan, to the late Donald and Opal Fife, Betty's life was one of dedication, kindness, and artistic expression that touched the lives of many.
Her academic pursuits led her to earn a Bachelor of Arts, a testament to her intelligence and commitment to personal growth. Betty's professional path was marked by her service as a deputy with the Eaton County Michigan Sheriff's Department, where she upheld the law with integrity and compassion. Her career later transitioned to a decade of dedication at Walmart, where she was known for her warm smile and diligent work ethic.
In her personal life, Betty was a loving partner to her late husband, Michael James Kundrat Jr., with whom she shared a life of cherished memories until his passing. She was the mother to her late daughter Kim Stultz, her late son Bret Barr, son Dale Barr (Deborah), and Deborah Barr; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Her son-in-law, Jack Stultz, and daughter-in-law Angel Whitman held a special place in her heart, as did her close-knit circle of friends, including Chandra (Chris) Warren, Lennon Warren, LaFon Griner, and Kim Warren, who became an extended family to her.
Betty's nurturing spirit extended beyond her immediate family to her adopted daughter, Donna Foerster, and her adopted grandchildren, Jerry (Chanley) Baugh, Tabitha Baugh, Nora (Mark) Tervo, Alysha Brown, Jaelyn Baugh, Jazzlynn Baugh, Jadya Baugh, Mila, Alex, and Novalee, Jocilyn Foerster, and Brinley McNeese. Each of them was touched by Betty's loving guidance and support.
Her passions in life were as colorful and diverse as the ceramic pieces she painted. Betty found joy in crocheting, crafting, and bringing beauty into the world with her hands. Those who knew her will remember her for the kindness she showed to everyone she met, her loving nature, and the creative spark she brought to every endeavor.
Betty's family extends a special thank you to her RN aides, Joyce Plunkett, Kim Neston, and Judy Turner, who provided care and comfort to Betty in her final days.
Visitation with family and friends will be held in the chapel of Adair Funeral & Cremation services on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, from 11:00 until time of service of 1:00 pm. Burial will follow in Lewis County Memorial Gardens with brother Bill Webb officiating.
