Brenda Kay Hudgins Wix, a cherished soul, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2026, in Columbia, TN. Born on December 2, 1955, in Hohenwald, TN, Brenda's journey through life was marked by her kindness and love that she shared generously with everyone around her.
Brenda was the beloved wife of Michael Alexander Wix, with whom she shared 25 years of devoted marriage. Together, they found joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as fishing on the Tennessee lakes and sharing quiet moments that became cherished memories. She was a loving mother to sons Tony (Tammy) Pitts and Cory (Amanda) Pitts, and a nurturing stepmother to Chastity Crowe (Dwight Staggs). Her family was her pride and joy, and she embraced every moment with them.
Predeceased by her parents, Roy and Bonnie Kalphart Hudgins, her first husband Roger “Preacher Man” Pitts and siblings Linda, Marie, Roy Jr., and Kenneth, Brenda's memory will continue through her brothers Jim, James, and Bill Hudgins. Her light will forever shine in the lives of her grandchildren Megan Willis, Morgan Thompson, Mason Pitts, Loren Crowe, and Alexander Crowe, as well as her great-grandchildren Drayven Thompson, Eleanor Pitts, Brian David Thompson, Benjamin Pitts, Helena Pitts, Montgomery Thompson, and Wyndham Pitts.
Brenda's hands were rarely still, for she found comfort and joy in the arts of reading, sewing, and quilt-making, crafting pieces that were as warm and loving as she was.
Those who knew Brenda will remember her for her love, friendliness, and kindness. Her gentle spirit and compassionate nature were a ray of light in the lives of her family and friends. Her laughter was contagious, her smile a symbol of the happiness she brought to every room she entered.
The family invites those who were touched by Brenda's life to join them in a visitation on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at the chapel of Adair Funeral & Cremation Services, from 10:30 AM to 1:00 PM. A service celebrating Brenda's life will commence at 1:00 PM. Following the service, Brenda will be laid to rest at Lewis County Memorial Gardens.
