Charles Howard Couch

Charles Howard Couch, age 95, of Hohenwald, Tennessee, passed away on May 28, 2026, in the town where he was born on October 7, 1930, leaving behind a life marked by love, kindness, and gentle strength.

He was the son of the late Willie and Bessie Couch and was also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Robbie Jo Couch, as well as his siblings Judy Jones and brother-in- law, Billy Jones. He is survived by his children, Sonja (Tony) Cotham and Mark (Lisa) Couch, and by his brother, Doug Couch and sister-in-law, Evelyn. Charles was a proud and devoted family man whose greatest joy came from the people he loved and the time he shared with them.

Charles’s legacy extended to his cherished grandchildren, Chris Rhinehart (Melanie), Cody Cotham, Jeron Couch (Nikki), Brooke Zander (Will), Britney Couch, Natalie Macer (Johnathan), and Nathan Couch (Laura). He was blessed to see his family tree grow through the addition of great-grandchildren Taylor Rhinehart, Brandon Rhinehart, Brantley Rhinehart, Cameron Cotham, Noah Cotham, Braden Couch, Addison Couch, Knox Zander, Hart Zander, Cru Zander, Luke Ezell, Jewels Wix, Lillie Claire Macer, Shepherd Macer, Sawyer Macer, Mary Drew Couch, Merrick and Madden Couch, and he treasured every moment spent with them. He also carried the memory of his late grandson Corey Rhinehart in his heart.

Charles served his country honorably in the United States Army, a chapter of his life that reflected his sense of duty and commitment. In his personal life, Charles found happiness in the simple and meaningful pleasures of fishing, gardening, camping, and traveling. These interests gave him time to enjoy the beauty of the world around him and to create lasting memories with those closest to him. He especially valued the moments spent outdoors, where his calm spirit and appreciation for life were evident to all who knew him.

Charles will be remembered as a loving, kind, and gentle man whose presence brought comfort and warmth to his family and friends. His life was a testimony to faithfulness, humility, and devotion to those he held dear. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, service, and deep family love that will continue to live on through the generations that follow.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at Davis-OakGrove Cemetery, with Brother Bill Webb officiating. Family and friends will gather to honor his memory and to celebrate a long life well lived in the community he called home.
