Dalton Lynn Hinson, a father, brother, and friend, passed away on July 14, 2024, in Hohenwald, TN, at the age of 71. Born on September 26, 1952, in Dyersburg, TN, he was a man known for his humor, friendliness, and the simple pleasures he found in life.
Dalton spent his early years in Dyersburg, where he was born to the late Dewey Hinson Jr. and Barbara Anderson, and later, raised by his mother Myra Hinson. His formative years in this tight-knit community shaped the man he would become - one who valued kinship, laughter, and the joy of a day well spent.
He was the father of Cassie Magouirk (Dusktin), Mikel Hinson, and Danny Hinson. Though he faced the heartbreaking loss of his son Dustin Hinson, Dalton's love for his family never faded. His memory continues to live on through his children, seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren, who will carry forward with the memories they made.
Dalton was a brother to many, sharing his life's journey with his siblings Teresia Gayle Barber, Mary (Kenneth) Hart, Victoria Baxter (Navin), James Hinson, Mickey Pettie, Kenny Pettie, and Synthia Ratliff. Together they forged an unbreakable bond, one that was strengthened by shared experiences and mutual respect. He was predeceased by his brothers Timmy Pettie and Robert Cox, whose memories he held close to his heart.
A man of simple interests, Dalton found solace in the tranquility of fishing and the satisfaction of piddling with motors. These pastimes were not just hobbies but a reflection of his character – patient and persistent. His friends and family often found him with a fishing rod in hand or tinkering with an engine, a smile on his face and a funny quip at the ready.
A graveside service will be held at Deavers Cemetery at 1:00 pm on Wednesday July 17, 2024, beginning with military honors.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to help offset funeral expenses.
