Ms. Dorothy Ann Westbrooks Brown unexpectedly passed away at her Hohenwald home on February 24, 2023, at the age of 82. She was born to the late Oscar and Jimmie Westbrooks on May 23, 1940, in Lewis County. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings Johnny Westbrook, Betty McKinnon, Preston Westbrooks, Ruth Staum, Clint Westbrooks, and Mary Ellen Westbrooks.
She leaves behind to carry her precious memory on her children Kimberly Pace, Tammy Forrester, Melissa Henderson (Odell Tripp) and Keith Scott Brown (Crystal); a brother Rickey Westbrooks; grandchildren Matthew (Michelle) Pace, Riley Pace, April (Zack) Graham, Trace (Ashley) Forrester, Sydnie Henderson, Ryder Henderson, and Laynie Brown. Ms. Dorothy also leaves behind her great grandchildren Ali Cochran, Corey “CJ” Hinson, Everleigh Pace, Knox Layson, Sawyer Layson, and Kane Forrester.
She was a faithful member of the Aetna Church of Christ. Dorothy made her career working at the Levi Strauss in Hickman County as a machine operator until her retirement. After retirement she enjoyed the simple things such a catching up on her favorite crime shows or British channels on the T.V. or getting lost in a good book. She loved to travel and often said “if the wheels are rolling, I am going” and would certainly never turn down the opportunity to explore new places. She had a sense of humor everyone could love and a laugh that was contagious. More than anything she loved spending time with her grandchildren and making memories every chance she got.
Visitation with family and friends will be held in the chapel of Adair Funeral & Cremation Services on Monday February 27, 2023, from 5:00-8:00 pm and again on Tuesday February 28, 2023, from 9:00 until time of service of 2:00pm. Burial will follow at Swiss Cemetery and brother Paul O’Guin will be officiating.
