Douglas Spurgeon Obituary

Mr. Douglas Wayne Spurgeon, 69 of Hohenwald unexpectedly passed away at his home on February 15,2021.  He was born in Lewis County on October 14,1951 to the late Clarence and Mildred Duncan Spurgeon. Doug was a frequent visitor to the City Café where he enjoyed sitting and talking to the locals. Mr. Spurgeon was a lifelong member of Bass Masters.  On nice days he would head to the Tennessee River to fish with hopes of catching enough to host a family fish fry that evening. 

Mr. Spurgeon is survived by his wife of 18 years Mrs. Debbie Spurgeon; children Christy (Rick) Totton, Leeza Best (Erik Lawson), Cody Best (Samantha Gage); grandchildren Alex (Kayce) Pulley, Raven Totton (Dawson Potts), Richard Totton, Erryanna Lawson, Lily Best, and Eli Best; great grandchildren Piper Pulley, Elena Totton, and Lynnox Potts.

Visitation with family and friends will be Saturday February 20,2021 from 1:00-2:00pm in the chapel of Adair Funeral & Cremation Services. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 pm following visitation with Brother John Rawdon officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to help offset funeral expenses.
