Ms. Fredia Borders Pekarek peacefully passed away in her Hohenwald home on February 1, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 27, 1945, in Hadley, KY. To the late Alva G and Ervil Gill Borders. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her siblings Charles Borders and Nadine Hedgespeth.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her son Darryl S. Pekarek (Michelle), daughter Deanna S. Medina (Tomas), granddaughter Karen Pekarek, and sisters Patty Smith, Marlene Campbell, and Jo Beavers.
In her spare time, she enjoyed getting lost in the chapters of a good book or working on a jigsaw puzzle or crocheting. She was also known for her sewing skills and producing the most beautiful dresses. On occasion Fredia was found in her kitchen baking up delicious treats. She was known for making many delicious cookies and breads especially around the holidays. She and her daughter or her sister Jo would often head out for an antique shopping spree and whether she found anything she still enjoyed her time together.
Per Ms. Fredia’s wishes, no services will take place. Adair Funeral & Cremation Services is assisting the family with arrangements.
