James Russell Seiber, who was born on April 23, 1958, in Hohenwald, Tennessee, passed away on April 2, 2026, in Columbia, Tennessee, leaving behind a life remembered of love and laughter.
James lived his life in a way that reflected the values of hard work, loyalty, and kindness. He was known by those who loved him as a funny and kind man, someone whose presence could brighten a room and whose sense of humor brought comfort and joy to family and friends alike. He carried himself with quiet strength and a warm spirit.
A lifelong Tennessean at heart, James was born in Hohenwald and remained connected to the place he called home throughout his life. One of his favorite pastimes was fishing the Buffalo River, where he found peace, reflection, and enjoyment in the simple beauty of the outdoors. Those moments on the water were among the many ways he appreciated the life around him and the familiar places that shaped him.
James worked in logging, a line of work that reflected his strong work ethic and appreciation for honest labor. Through his work and the life, he built, he demonstrated perseverance and reliability. He was the kind of man who understood the value of putting in a hard day’s work.
He was the beloved son of Betty Jo Reeves and the late Spankie Seiber. He was a loving father to Shonda Ann Seiber and James Allen Seiber and his wife, Haley, and stepdaughter Grace Bell. He also carried the memory of his beloved children Rachel Diane Seiber and Cameron Seiber who preceded him.
James was also a cherished brother to Janet Seiber, Bill Seiber, Phillip Seiber, and Jimmy Reeves. He was preceded in death by his sister, Jo Ann Macintosh, and his brother, Kenneth Wayne Seiber. He was a proud grandfather to Hope, Karley, and Leland, and step grandchildren Huxlee Bell and Arlynn Chappell and he treasured the joy and meaning that grandchildren bring to a family.
There are currently no services planned. Adair Funeral & Cremation Services is assisting the Seiber family with arrangements.
