Jody Martin Obituary

Jody Alan Martin, a devoted husband, beloved son, and cherished brother, passed away peacefully on February 10, 2024, in Hohenwald, TN, at the age of 64. Born on July 15, 1959, in Shreveport, LA, Jody's life was characterized by his loving nature and kind spirit, which left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

Jody is survived by his loving wife, Marlene Skelton Martin, who was his partner in both love and adventure. Together, they shared an incredible life, filled with joy and exploration. His mother, Freida Turner, will fondly remember Jody as a light in her life, while he reunites in spirit with his late father, Paul Martin. His stepfather, Ben Chance, and his siblings, Jay, Julie, and Jenny will carry treasured memories of Jody with them forever.

After completing his education and becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Jody dedicated himself to a career in healthcare, where his compassion and care brought comfort to many.

Jody's love for the outdoors was evident to all who knew him. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, finding solace and excitement in nature's beauty. His hands were rarely still, as he enjoyed tinkering with anything he could fix or improve, a testament to his practical and inventive mind.

One of Jody's most treasured chapters in life was the time he spent living in Las Vegas with Marlene. The city's vibrancy and the couple's shared enthusiasm for discovering new places together made for an endlessly entertaining journey. The joy they found in each other's company was the cornerstone of their marriage and an inspiration to those around them.

Jody will be remembered for the love he shared so freely and the kindness that was as natural to him as breathing. His laughter and light-hearted nature were gifts to all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He approached life with a sense of humor and a gentle heart, creating a legacy of love that will be cherished by his family and friends.
