John Hufstedler Obituary

Mr. John William “Bill” Hufstedler 68, of Linden unexpectantly passed away at Perry Community Hospital on July 27,2020. He was born October 30,1951 in Linden to the late Herschel and Ruby (Byrd) Hufstedler. After graduating from Perry County Highschool, Bill began his own backhoe and dozer service named Bills Backhoe Services.  On August 9,1970 he married his best friend Mrs. Linda Gail Simmons in Linden, TN. They were just weeks shy of their 50th wedding anniversary. Mr. Hufstedler was an Elder of Little Lot Church of Christ before becoming a member of Linden Church of Christ as well as Brushy Church of Christ.  He has been known to quote the scripture front to back and enjoyed teaching others the word of the gospel.

Bill has been described as a very non-judgmental man and many times became a father figure for those that did not have one. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing the Tennessee River especially with his brothers. His daughter Gena had this to say: “God could not have placed me with a better father. I know he would not want us to be sad. Many times, before he would say “When I die, Gena don’t mourn me, but be happy for me, sing and celebrate my death.”

Along with his wife he is survived by his daughter Gena Gail Hufstedler Aldridge; and his son John Clovis Hufstedler.

His memorial service will be full of only happy stories and a grill out afterwards. After the gathering the family will be placing his urn on a wooden boat and setting it adrift into the sunset, with love in their hearts. A date will be announced soon.
