Larry Richardson Obituary

Larry J. Richardson, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2024, in Linden, TN, at the age of 76. Born on September 20, 1947, in Hohenwald, TN, to the late Odis and Cecila Richardson, Larry's life was a testament to the enduring spirit of love, wisdom, and courage.

Larry is survived by his devoted wife of 41 years, Sharon Beardsley Richardson, who stood by his side through life's many journeys. Together, they raised a loving family, including daughters Sherry Lynn Maza and Irene Waddles. He was preceded in death by his daughter Leanne Morgan. His sister Loudean Campbell will fondly remember her brother's unwavering strength and kindness. Larry's legacy continues through his adoring grandchildren Anne Kay O'Guin, Shyan Carey, Shelby White, Blain Miller, and Lexie Morgan, and his great-grandchild, Walker Lee, all of whom brought immense joy to his life.

Larry's dedication to his country was evident through his honorable service as a sergeant E5 in the United States Army. His bravery and commitment were recognized with the awarding of two Bronze Stars, distinctions that spoke to his valor and dedication. Following his military service, Larry continued to serve his community through his active involvement with the American Legion of Linden, where he shared his experiences and camaraderie with fellow veterans.

A man of many interests, Larry found solace and excitement in the great outdoors. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, often found enjoying the tranquility of nature. His passion for tinkering was well-known, as he could fix almost anything with his hands. Racing and NASCAR events filled his weekends with adrenaline, while horse riding allowed him moments of peaceful connection with these noble creatures. Larry's zest for life was contagious, and his hobbies were a reflection of a man who loved to stay active and engaged with the world around him.

Those who knew Larry would describe him as a loving soul, a wise guide, and a courageous heart. His presence was a source of stability and warmth for his family and friends. He approached life's challenges with the same tenacity he demonstrated on the fields of battle, and he imparted lessons of resilience and grace to all who were fortunate enough to cross his path.
