Margaret Turnbow Obituary

On January 03, 2020 the world lost a flamboyant icon of a lady, Margaret Sue (England) Turnbow. She had been telling those that had spoken to her lately that she was ready to leave this world and move on to her next adventure. She passed peacefully in her sleep.

She was born on March 02, 1944, to Mary Anna King and Robert Earl King of Mt Pleasant TN. She had two brothers Tommy England and Bobby Joe King. She was active in making life-long friends and sports throughout her school days

She was always a very decisive lady. We believe it started on a hot July night in 1966 when she went out on a blind date, two weeks later she married Kenneth Ray Turnbow on August 2, 1966. Shortly after she moved to Hohenwald TN. Not sure she ever forgave Kenneth for that. (Kidding) Then in November 1967, they had a son (Duke), However that wasn’t enough, In November 1969 they had a daughter (Duchess).

Her work career started with her being a receptionist with several different offices and companies then she was hired at MLEC in Hohenwald, where she met new people daily and made friends with most. Anyone that had the privilege of meeting her and becoming her friend knew where they stood with her. Whether she liked you or not. She would always tell it like it was, even if the truth hurts. She had more friends than most telemarketers have phone numbers. If anything was happening in the USA and even sometimes outside the USA, she would know things before most knew they were even going to do them. Just ask her family.

She was almost an expert cook; she made the best beans, potatoes, and cornbread daily for years, but still would burn them from time to time. However, she was a skilled candy and pie maker. She has a recipe book that may be for sell on eBay to the highest bidder.

She loved to travel and got to see many places throughout the World with her husband and friends. She also was always ready for a road trip to Tunica. She would get on the phone and call anyone and everyone till she would find one or several to go. Most Casinos knew her on a first name basis. She said she enjoyed going because she was going to increase her family’s inheritance. (Never Happened).

She was preceded in death by her(parents) Robert Earl & Mary Anna King, (brother) Tommy England, (husband)Kenneth Turnbow. She is survived by (brother) Bobby Joe (Libby) King of Lawrenceburg TN. (son) Duke (Melissa) Turnbow. (Daughter) Duchess (Larry Wayne) Harper of Hohenwald TN. She had three grandchildren that she loved more than her two children. Chase Parker, Skye Parker & Tiffany Robnett. Then things really went awry. Three great-grandchildren came along and all the love went to them. Kylian Parker, Lejer & Willow Robnett.

She did not want a funeral where people that she rarely saw could come and gawk over her saying how good she looks. She made it very clear to anyone and everyone that she conversed with regularly that she wanted to be cremated and her ashes to be put next to her husband at their grave plot.

The family has decided to have a Celebration of Life for her on Sunday January 12, 2020 2 p.m. till 4 p.m. at the Blondy Church of God life center (Swan Ave) Hohenwald TN.
