Nettie (Holt) Hinson

Ms. Nettie (Holt) Hinson 78 peacefully went to be with our Lord and Savior on July 9,2020 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Mt. Pleasant to the late Pete and Marie (Pitts) Holt on August 24,1941. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by 11 siblings; her first husband Mr. Paul Hensley; and he second husband Mr. Eddie Paul Hinson.  Ms. Hinson attended Freedom Holy Temple before her health began to decline but never lost faith throughout the years.

If anyone has ever visited Ms. Nettie’s house, you could immediately see the love she had for working in her garden and producing the most beautiful flowers one could see.  She would often spend her days outdoors in her garden.  On other days she enjoyed completing a cross stitching pattern or going out for a catfish dinner with family and friends.  Sometimes in the middle of the night if she could not sleep, she would round up family and friends and head to Tunica for a short adventure of making memories and spending time with those she loved.  She lived her life for children and family. Nettie’s biggest job took someone with a big heart to complete. She was a foster mom to over 500 children throughout her life. You could always guarantee that when those children were ready to step out on their own that they had the life skills needed to survive thanks to Ms. Hinson. She has left behind big shoes to fill with her unselfishness and compassion of helping children in need.

Ms. Hinson leaves behind her daughters Ms. Linda Clayton and Ms. Paula Hensley; a son Mr. Nathan “Butch” (Sharlene) Hensley; grandchildren Jeremy (Amanda) Odom, Ronnie “mouse” (Heather) Odom, and Zach Hensley; great grandchildren Nathan, Chase, Landon, Lance, Addison, and Brett Odom and Jesse Hensley; and one brother Mr. Frank (Faye) Holt.

Visitation with family and friends will be held tomorrow July 11,2020 from 9:00-2:00 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 with Brother Glenn Floyd officiating.  Burial will immediately follow at Downey Cemetery in Hohenwald.

While visiting or attending services for Ms. Nettie Hinson please consider the following guidelines:
* Maintain 6 feet between yourself and the next closest person;
* Refrain from hugs and handshakes;
* When you sneeze or cough, use your elbow to cover your nose and mouth;
* Wash your hands often;
* Avoid touching your face; and
* Minimize time spent in places where people gather.

Under CDC guidance NO OUTSIDE FOOD may be brought to the funeral home, but may be taken to the family home
