Nichol Lynn "Nikki" Sova Mayberry, a woman known for her boundless love and generosity, passed away on February 20, 2026, in Columbia, Tennessee. Born on September 6, 1978, in Saginaw, Michigan, Nikki's infectious laughter and warm presence brought joy to all who knew her.
Nikki leaves behind a legacy of love that will be carried on through all that had the opportunity to know her. Her husband Richard “Richie” A. Mayberry II, her children Karley (Brandon) Duke, Siarra Storm (Jacob) Mayberry-Burlison, and Logan "Bubba" (Ashlee) Mayberry, will forever cherish her memory. Her precious grandchildren, Ella Duke and Jackie Burlison, will miss their GiGi’s comforting embrace and the stories shared under the cedar tree. Though her children Rayna, Tristen, and Cole Mayberry preceded her in death, the love she had for them remains.
Survived by her loving mother, Gayle Rappin Sova, and predeceased by her father, Edward R. Sova, Nikki was a source of strength for her family. Her brothers, Edward R. Sova Jr. (Lorraine Hirt) and Joseph C. Sova (Karen), along with her sister, Stephanie A. Tanner (Phillip), will hold the memories of their sister's unwavering support and infectious humor. Nikki's life was further enriched by a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends, all of whom felt the warmth of her loving spirit.
Nikki's educational journey culminated in her graduation from the LPN program at TCAT Hohenwald in 2024, where she found not only her calling but a circle of friends who became like family. Her dream job at Maury Regional in the Midsouth Gastroenterology department was a testament to her passion for caring for others, a trait that defined every aspect of her life. Nikki's passion for communication and public service was exemplified through her active involvement with the High Forest Amateur Radio Club. She not only enjoyed connecting with people from all walks of life but also took great pride in using her skills to serve her community. In addition to her love for amateur radio, Nikki was a trained storm spotter, a role she took very seriously. Her dedication to this vital community service ensured that her neighbors were forewarned about severe weather.
Those who knew Nikki will remember her for the comfort she found in her hobbies, which she generously shared with others. An avid reader, Nikki found peace in the pages of books, often accompanied by the laughter of her children and grandchildren and the quietness of the world around her. Her home was a haven for every child she met, and she was the true rock of her family, always there to keep everyone grounded and to help them push through life's challenges.
Nikki's love for her fur babies and the outdoors reflected her appreciation for life's simple pleasures. The cedar tree was a sacred space where she would sit, crochet, and bask in the tranquility of nature.
Visitation for Nikki will be held in the chapel of Adair Funeral & Cremation Services on Friday, February 27th, from 6:00-9:00 pm, and again on Saturday, February 28th, from 12:00 until the time of service at 2:00 pm.
