"Porkey" Allen Wayne Dye passed away at his home February 1, 2022, surrounded by his family. He was preceded in death by his father Herbert Allen Dye, Mother Lela Mae Dye Bailey, Daughter in-law Mandy Whitehead Dye and great granddaughter Camryn Reese Hinson
Porkey was survived by his wife of 56 years Betty Ann Smith Dye, children Allen and Becky Dye, Kevin and Kelly Hinson and Kevin and Crystal Dye all of Hohenwald. He was also survived by 15 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Porkey was a former member of Lewis County Jaycees and a member of First Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He was also retired from the City of Hohenwald where he served for 19 years as manager of the gas department. Porkey's passion after retirement was serving and it brought him great joy to serve with The Carpenters for Christ.
Visitation with family and friends will be held at First Baptist Church Hohenwald on Friday February 4, 2022, from 10:00 am until time of service at 1:00 pm with brother Bert Spann officiating. Burial will follow at Downey cemetery.
