In the evening hours of August 27, 2021, Mr. Richard John Butler passed away at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia. Mr. Butler was born in Lawrenceburg, TN on August 1, 1959, to the late Byron Jasper and Thelma Jean Butler. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his second Mother Jean Butler, sister Lou Ann Butler, stepsister Norma Holloway, and nieces Natasha Nicole Smith, Britney Nicole Ann Clayton, and Samantha Gail Butler.
Mr. Butler is survived by:
His wife of 30 years Mrs. Cynthia Kay Halbrooks Butler.
Children- Jessica Lean Butler of Brunswick, GA, Michael Ryan Butler of Pulaski, TN., and Isabella Hope Butler Halbrooks of Centerville, TN.
Grandchildren- Benjamin Ryan Huey, Lilly, Isabelle, Jasper, and Adam Isaiah Carlise.
Siblings- Isaac Butler of Hampshire, TN, Daniel (Myra) Butler of Hampshire, TN, Phillip Butler of Hohenwald, TN, Melanie Gill of Greeneville, TN, and Amber Butler of Hohenwald, TN.
Half-siblings- Mary Cruff of Camilla, GA., Fred (Janet) Butler of Oxford, MI, Beth Ann DeMaria of Baroda, MI, Barbara Harden of Johannesburg, MI, Beverly Hill of Mt. Juliet, TN, Donna Miller of Oxford, MI, and Jim (Tina) Butler of Old Fort, NC.
Step-siblings-Eddie (Karen) Stilner, Darrell (Jeanette) Stiltner of Newport, TN, Nancy Neuhauser of west TN, and Dennis Stiltner of Hohenwald.
Richard also leaves behind to cherish his memory special friends Mr. and Mrs. Nick Filly and a host of nieces, nephews, as well as his church family, and a host of friends to the survivors.
There will be a private family visitation held later in the week. Graveside services will be held Thursday September 2,2021 beginning at 1:00 pm at Kittrell Cemetery in Hohenwald. Brother Harvey Moore will be officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family is asking that donations be made to the funeral home to help offset funeral expenses.
