Robert Harville Griner Sr. passed away peacefully on February 17, 2022, in his Hohenwald home surrounded by family. He was also preceded in death by his sister Sara Frances Griner Farris, brother D.E. Griner Jr, and his stepchildren Bill Grimes, Jeff Grimes, and Melanie Webb.

Harville is survived by his children Robert H. Griner Jr., Catherine Griner Mash, and Stephen D. Griner (Suzanne); grandchildren Robert H. Griner III, Cheryl Mash Dudley, Rhonda R. Mash, Barry R. Mr. Griner left high school to marry Flora Josephine Peery and enlist in the United States Army. During his time in the Army, he fought in World War II and proudly served his country. Up to the present day he was a proud Veteran that was always helping his fellow Vets and attending all Veteran Ceremonies. After being discharged he returned home to finish his high school career. Together he and his first wife raised four children before her passing. Harville accepted a job working for the United States Postal Service where he would retire years later. During that time, he met his second wife Betty Sue Grimes and blended together two wonderful families. His number one hobby was loading up and heading to the river to relax and try to reel in the biggest catch. Fishing was a true passion of his. When not at the river he enjoyed creating masterpieces from his woodworking skills. Some of which included beautiful furniture that was displayed throughout the house.
