Samuel John Berry

In the evening hours of November 14, 2021, Mr. Samuel John Berry unexpectedly passed away at a Hohenwald residence at the age of 21. He was born in Columbia, TN on March 8, 2000, to Ms. Angela Michelle Messina Berry and the late Douglas William Berry Sr.  Along with his dad he was preceded in death by his fraternal grandparents John and Dottie Hartley.

Everyone that met him and was able to get to know Sam instantly loved him and his bigger than life personality.  He had a sense of humor to make anyone smile. He enjoyed being surrounded by his many friends that he saw more as family. He was the most kindhearted, devoted young man and would do anything he could for anyone that needed it.

In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and catching the Alabama Football game on television. His presence will be missed by so many but the loved that he shared in his short time here will carry on in the lives that he touched.

Samuel is survived by his mother Angela and stepdad Michael Funderburk; siblings Brittany Messina, Douglas Berry Jr (Christy) and family, Kristine Malone, and Chelsey Berry; maternal grandparents John and Sandra Messina; Uncle Darrin (Angie) Messina and family. He also leaves behind to carry on his memory his niece that was more of a sister Carlie Odom and a friend that was a brother Donovan Conner, and a host of family and friends.

Visitation with family and friends will be held in the chapel of Adair Funeral & Cremation Services on Thursday November 18th from 2:00-4:00 pm with funeral services immediately following. Brother John Rawdon will be officiating. Cremation will take place after the service and Samuel will be laid to rest next to his father and grandparents at a later date.
