Sidney Roy Tompkins

Mr. Sidney Roy Tompkins 76 of Hohenwald passed away on February 17,2021 at Maury Regional with his wife by his side. He was born in Presque Isle, Maine on June 17,1944 to the late Leon and Elsie Green Tompkins. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his sister Patricia (Alcide) Carney.

On January 10,1970 he married his soulmate- Ms. Nancy Case and during their 51 years of marriage they enjoyed many family camping trips. Sid enjoyed anything outdoors from Bird hunting, to fishing, to piddling in his shop. Some evenings he would settle in and enjoy a classic western movie, Gunsmoke was his favorite. The Tompkins household was always full of children and in Sidney’s eyes they were all family. He treated everyone he knew the same and never hesitated to help when needed. He was an exceptional husband, father, grandfather and friend. To his grandchildren he was known as “Pooh-Pooh” and there was never a doubt the love he had for each and everyone of them.

Mr. Tompkins is survived by his wife of 51 years Mrs. Nancy Tompkins; children Tammy Tompkins, Sidney “T.J..” (Lisa) Tompkins Jr., Stephanie (Shane) Clark, and Troy (Wendy) Tompkins; a brother Robert (Ginny) Tompkins; grandchildren Trevor Tompkins, Brandon (Natasha) Clark, Sidney (Beth) Clark, Kelsie (Christian) Peery, Jenna Tompkins, and Mycah Clark (Justin Taylor.) ; great grandchildren Amahley Walmsley, Makai Thorne, Mabyn Clower, Holdyn Clark, Sabin Clark, Adysin Clark, Aurora Clark, and Ellis Peery.

Visitation with family and friends will be Monday February 22,2021 from 5:00-8:00 pm in the chapel of Adair Funeral & Cremation Services.
